As part of the Manly Arts Festival 2014, The Painters Gallery presents a cosmopolitan exhibition with 3 different artists, each one with different backgrounds and techniques but focused on the same subject: The balance in life.
All human beings are constantly looking for balance that keeps dreams and reality, into perspective to achieve goals, or to maintain the natural cycle of life /death going on to make us remember that time is the most precious thing we can offer (and that we should forget about procrastination).
An Equinox is all about equilibrium: it's when daytime and night are similar or have an approximately equal duration. There's a beautiful balance between the sun and the moon, and between the light and darkness.
From 20th September to October 4th, you will witness three different perspectives about what equilibrium could mean: life & death, freedom & captivity, light & shadows. A whole range of colours, brushstrokes and ideas as part of a proposal that will, for sure, make you wonder what balance is to you, and how an Equinox looks like in your own life.
If you are lucky enough, you may find Goya Torres, M-lon or Lotte Smith, the three artists exposing at Equinox, to delight yourself with an incredibly friendly conversation and why not, a glass of wine.
As they describe it: 'Equinox is defined as a moment of balance when both northern and southern hemispheres are equal under the sun, when the sun is directly above the equator. September is the second equinox of the year when southern hemisphere returns itself to warmth, therefore the artists have chosen this month for their exhibition, and at the same time as The Manly Arts Festival 2014.'
