You are an oyster lover? Then this great spot is definitely something for you. Located in the marvellous Holdfast Shores overlooking the beautiful marina at Glenelg, the Oyster Bar is one of the best places for sipping the finest Coffin Bay oysters, complemented by a glass of wine from the fabulous wine regions of South Australia.

The Oyster Bar Outside
I never thought that you could eat oysters in so many different ways. I have known them before only raw with a little vinegar and lemon. But there are many more ways to prepare these little tasty shellfish, such as baked, fried, grilled, boiled, pickled, steamed and smoked. They are even used in drinks. Their complex flavour varies depending on the type and region. Some taste salty, others are more sweet or with mineral flavour. I've eaten oysters in different countries, but I like the Coffin Bay oysters best, as they are not as big but absolutely tasty, without being too strong.

Oysters Oliver
The Oyster Bar offers indoor and alfresco dining. Both areas are nice, but if possible I prefer the outdoors with the beautiful waterfront overlooking the marina. Sitting at the table and sipping delicious oysters with a glass of wine and watching the great boats in the harbor is wonderful. You can choose from an exciting range of chilled and grilled oysters. And if you're not a friend of small shells, you will find delicious alternative dishes on the menu, like an antipasto or marinated seafood platter, a smoked salmon plate and not to forget their famous salt and pepper squid.

My personal experience:We like to visit this place especially on Wednesday at lunch time. But the Friday night live music entertainment is also worth a visit.
