The Oyster Bar at David Jones Food Court in Bondi Junction Westfield is the perfect posh pit stop after a hard day's shopping. You'll find it located on the ground floor nestled amongst the fresh produce and grocery goods. People head to Oyster bar for fancy seafood and refreshing wines in an elegant, well presented style.
Sit on a comfy stool and watch the friendly chef's prepare your meal whilst sipping a flute of sparkling or a glass of Grant Burge Chardonnay. You'll like it so much you'll be tempted to grab a bottle in the DJ's liquor department next door.
Sydney Rock Oysters (pictured) are some of the world's best. In fact, at Oyster Bar they taste so fresh you'd think they had just been shucked. Half a dozen natural will set you back $21.95 or $35.95 for a full dozen. Funnily enough half a dozen will get you 7 oysters, and a dozen will get you 13. Try the Oysters with Tetsuya's dressing for something a little different; otherwise they also sell them Mornay or Kilpatrick style.
If you are into seafood, but not such a fan of oysters, this is still the place to be. They sell melt in your mouth lemongrass grilled scallops, 3 for $15.95 (pictured). Otherwise the Prawn and Avocado Salad is sure to satisfy, $26.95. The food is light and healthy, so there's no guilt other than the price. At least all meals come with complimentary bread and salad (pictured).
Service is prompt but a touch pushy and the wait for food isn't usually long. There aren't many stools though, so you may have a short wait around lunchtime. Expectedly, you are paying premium price for premium quality. It's not the best spot for groups larger than 2 or 3, but it is great for lunch dates.
