Time to get your festive on
The Oxford Hotel in North Adelaide is a well-known pub / bar / restaurant where locals and tourists alike visit to get their daily grub sorted. With the Adelaide Fringe less than a week away, The Oxford has launched a new menu - aptly named The Festival Feats - to reflect the festive and vibrant vibes of the Southern Hemisphere's largest open access arts festival.

Designed by owners Grant and Anastasia Murray, the menu aims to provide customers with a "crafty and artistic flair that compliments the strong art philosophy of the venue". By incorporating two popular themes of art and cuisine, head chef Symon Conway-Lyden has brought in his 7 years of culinary knowledge and experience to bring us the current menu.

Want something fancy? There's a meal with a juicy pork belly (with crackle) on the menu!

Not too hungry and looking for a snack? Opt for some good ol' chicken wings.

Just after a drink? Try the lemon Gin cocktail for a subtle buzz.

During the event of the menu launch, we were treated to samplers that possessed blends of Asian flavors with a modern twist - some of these dishes included the seared scallops (with bacon, shitake, shallots, asparagus puree and truffle oil), the Jap Che Salad (with beef, vegetables, noodles and egg in Korean sauce).

Keeping true to the tradition that is the Adelaide Fringe, the menu headings at the Oxford Hotel will be transformed to represent "Opening Night" with starters, "Gluttony" with the Oxford classics, "Earthly Delights" with dirty candy, and "Encore" with desserts - pretty ingenious!

As part of the event, we were also treated to the beautiful artwork by local artists, such as Jack Fran, who was painting a mural on the spot on Tynte Street, and also concurrently had his work displayed in the functions area upstairs.

Additionally, two impressive murals of our beloved musicians - Prince and David Bowie - were eloquently placed in the pool area, both designed by local artist The Worst Creative.

"A celebration of audacity and creativity", the Oxford Hotel is hoping to attract Fringe Festival visitors and locals alike to come in, fall in love with the artwork that is displayed throughout this beautifully aged pub and restaurant, and marvel the fresh flavours in their meals to the fullest. After all, we are looking at one of the busiest times of the year for Adelaide, so might as well make the most of the businesses who are actively participating throughout the Fringe to make this time as enjoyable as possible!
