Formerly known as Bombay Bicycle Club , The Ovingham Hotel offers both pub-style food and Indian cuisine. Specials are offered for those who want something different from their regular menu items. Seniors discounts are available every day.

During one of our visits, their Chicken Parmy was offered as a special in a half-sized portion. The flesh of the chicken was not dry and was set off nicely by the crumb coating. While the coating included Parmesan cheese, the flavour was not too strong. The ham and Napoli sauce complemented the chicken schnitzel nicely, and the cheese was not too creamy. Served with the dish were chips and a salad dressed with a tangy dressing.

Another special available during our visits, the pumpkin in the Pumpkin Karaage retained its texture and was contrasted nicely by the crisp coating. The spices in the coating gave the dish a delectable spiced flavour. A bed of salad greens provided a fresh element. While tasty enough as-is, a soy & wasabi dipping sauce came with the dish.

The chicken in the Moroccan Chicken & Chickpea Salad was cooked just right and had a lovely char on the surface. The marinate gave them a delightful spiced taste. The salad greens were crisp and fresh. A contrast of texture was provided by chickpeas and tomatoes. Mango aioli served as the dressing, which had a slightly sweet taste.

Out of the two Roast of the Day specials that we tried - turkey and beef, our favourite was the turkey, which had good size slices with moist flesh. The beef was enjoyable to eat as well, with flesh that was not tough. The roast vegetables accompanying the roast were done well, retaining some bite with some char to the broccoli and cauliflower. Finishing the dish was a light Yorkshire Pudding and gravy.

We liked that the quality of their Beef Schnitzel was unchanged, with flesh that was not chewy and a crunchy garlic and herb crumb. The portion size of the schnitzel allows it to be easily shared. We chose pepper sauce as the accompanying sauce, which had the degree of peppery flavour that we expected. Like the Chicken Parmy, the dish came with chips and salad.

The flesh of the pork belly in the Murrayland Pork Belly was succulent, though the crackling was a bit uneven in texture. The slightly sweet apple cider compote partnered wonderfully with the pork, and the roast baby carrots retained some firmness. Mashed potatoes served as a foil to the compote.

An option suitable for vegetarians, the chunks of pumpkin in the Honey Roasted Pumpkin & Cashew Salad were fluffy with some texture and a slightly sweet taste. The spinach leaves had a vibrant green colour and cashew nuts added a crunchy element. The balsamic glaze tied everything together. We were able to have the feta served on the side.

When ordering their Crispy Chicken Wings, diners have the choice between barbeque or hot sauce. The degree of spiciness of the hot sauce that we picked is suitable for most tastes. The wings were done well with moist flesh and an exterior that had a bit of crispiness. Accompanying the wings was aioli sauce that helped provide a foil to the hot sauce.

Aside from the main dining area, diners can choose to sit at the Sports Bar. The on-site car park provides convenient off-street parking for visitors.
