Having recently opened its doors in November, the Ormond Ice Creamery is here just in time for summer. When I went in the evening of a scorching December day, they were doing a roaring trade.
With inviting, high quality gelato in favourite flavours such as chocolate, strawberry and rainbow, as well as more exotic varieties such as Tim Tam, honey and fig, and pomegranate, there is something for all tastes. Deciding what flavours to get was difficult, but I eventually settled on a double scoop cone with chocolate and pistachio, which was delightfully creamy and flavoursome.

Pricing is reasonable; the best value is the three scoop cone for $6.50, if you are game to consume that much ice cream. The ice creamery is not limited to gelato in a cone, with many other delectable desserts available.
The Ormond Ice Creamery is located on North Road, not far from the main shopping strip near Ormond Station. It is nestled in a small hub of shops, beside the kebab shop and the Ormond Provedore cafe, making the ice creamery the perfect place to stop for dessert. There is indoor seating around the perimeter of the store, or a few tables outside.
