Tucked in a neat little corner, just off Hindley Street, The Original Pancake Kitchen never sleeps. It is the only place that will satisfy your pancake cravings (and if you are like me, there will be many) 24 hours a day. The Pancake Kitchen crew entertains the lunch crowd, the dinner crowd, and the crowd who get a tad peckish at 3am.
It is a place that is always cosy and warm, and smelling of maple syrup. Friendly and inviting; take a seat at a table or booth. The walls are covered in all things pancake related. This includes Garfield comics and caricatures, and pictures of the 'old pancake toss'. It is somewhere that is casual and slightly quirky.
The menu boasts, as you would expect, a wide range of pancakes. From the standard to the strange, they have it all. They also have a select menu for those not in the mood for pancakes. You can have a steak if you so desire.
In my experience, the food is always of good quality, and served with a smile. However, service is not always as quick as desired. The portions are huge; pancakes as big as your plate piled high with the topping of your choice. Their drinks are not large, they are 'enormous'.
A place that is rich and colourful in history, it is somewhere to take those you love. The kids will love eating sweet pancakes for dinner, and the girls will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere for pancakes and coffee. Stop by and take a minute or two from the rush of the city.
I've been here at for breakfast, lunch, dinner and at 3am. I've taken business associates, my family and I've poured out of pubs into pancakes with my friends. Definitely my favourite place in Adelaide.

I originally found this place by mistake, now I drag my family there every day I can.
