What was once a pizza parlour in Maryborough is now the home to The Organic Patch . Opened on the 18th November 2014, this family owned and run grocery store is catering for all dietary requirements and has a large range of gluten free, certified organic produce, bulk 100% raw honey at $10 kilo, baby and personal care items, grocery lines and cold drinks.



The lines of produce don't just stop with what they have on their shelves. Owners, sister-in-laws Lianna Ammenhauser and Sarah Bird, are willing to accommodate your needs and if there is a particular item you would like them to stock on a regular basis, they are more than happy to source it for you.



As we hear about more and more problems creeping into the market with unknown overseas bacteria being found in our packaged products, people are becoming more concerned about the quality of the food that they are eating and cooking. Due to a health scare in the family approximately 12 months earlier, Lianna and Sarah were motivated to open an organic store where people could purchase quality products whilst also enjoying a healthier lifestyle. After a mere three weeks of changing their own eating habits at home, their families noticed a marked difference in their health and energy.





The Organic Patch's bulk section is now available, allowing customers to purchase in bulk to save money. From gravity fed and bulk bin dispensers, nuts, cereals, flours, legumes, seeds, rices, pasta etc. can be placed in packets provided. This allows the customer to purchase as much or as little as they require. I was happy to buy a packet of Absolute Organic Dried Apricots, which is a much loved favourite of mine, especially when I am travelling.



Fruit and vegetables are sourced from a local certified Bauple supplier along with other items from Rocklea Markets , the Sunshine Coast and a home based company in Hervey Bay .



The shop is quite spacious with plenty of room to expand and this is something the owners have in mind over time, perhaps adding sandwiches and lunch menus.



is open Mon-Fri from 8.30 am to 5.30pm, Thursdays from 7.00 am to 5.30pm and on Saturdays from 8.30am to 1.00pm. More information or questions can be answered on their Facebook page .
