High tea in luxury
I live in Brisbane, and sometimes I just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city in order to escape to somewhere more peaceful and relaxing, somewhere where I can disappear to for the day. On a drive down to Springbrook one Sunday morning, I stumbled across a majestic looking Queenslander which turned out to be The Old Teahouse Gallery. When I first set foot in the beautiful gallery, I knew I had somehow landed myself right in high tea heaven. This gorgeous vintage style cafe steeped in history and elegance was exactly the escape I was looking for.
Set in lush and tranquil surroundings, this unique cafe is pure charm. They serve freshly made scones with home-made jam and cream, a wide selection of teas, coffee, cakes and biscuits and light lunch. If you love old world charm and drinking tea out of fine china cups then you will absolutely love it here. Whether you want to pop in just for a regal cuppa or you want to spend the whole morning or afternoon you can rest assured that your needs will be taken care of.
The Old Teahouse Gallery caters for all types of occasions from birthday parties to baby showers, christenings, engagements and anniversaries. They even do themed tea parties. And did I mention how beautifully set each table is? I couldn't help but feel like I was dining in the film set of Pride and Prejudice. As it is with wonderful places such as these, places can often be limited, so if you are planning on taking a lovely drive down to Mudgeeraba, make sure you book yourself a table as I can guarantee you you won't want to miss out.
