Melbourne is known as the fashion capital of Australia, a fresh new look was created in 1960s. Glen Eira City Council Gallery are celebrating this exciting decade with the exhibition The New Look: 1960s Fashion in Melbourne which is taking place from 27 April to 27 May, 2018.

Some of the garments and accessories on display will feature Melbourne labels and fashion designers such as Prue Acton, Norma Tullo, Mr Simon, Sharene Creations, Miss Hartnell and Hartnell of Melbourne. The exhibition will also showcase fashion photography from Bruno Benini, Athol Shmith and Henry Talbot.


The exhibition will include weekly floor talks each Friday. All events are free, but bookings can be found here . Guest speakers include Nicole Jenkins (the author of Style is Eternal and Love Vintage), Curator Diane Soumilas, Lesley Sharon Rosenthal, Tom McEvoy, and Brian Samuel, the Director of Miss Hartnell.
