This piqued my interest because I loved Sean Durkin's Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011), not so much because it has Jude Law as the lead, which would probably be why most people would want to see it.

Its genre has been labelled as 'Drama, Romance' on IMDb, but this is more about exploring what makes or breaks a marriage. Law plays an English entrepreneur with his head in the clouds most of the time, and Carrie Coon plays his extremely supportive American wife. It is a dark portrayal of these unions or relationships we seek to have and why we stay in them.

The two deliver, but I have to say Coon delivers a lot more. She has been nominated for the 'Best Actress' award in a number of independent movie awards, and it is a well-deserved acclaim. The emotions her character were feeling throughout the film just emanated from the screen through her facial expressions, body language and dialogue. In the film, she has a horse she loves and trains and even that love will be felt by the audience if and when they watch it.

Sean Durkin, the director, has won a few awards in some independent film festivals too, and this film also won the 'Top Ten Independent Films' award with the National Board of Review in the US.

Give it a go, but be prepared to shed a few tears and drop your jaw while watching a couple of scenes.
