Put it on your bliss list
As many happy Aussies pack their bags and plan their travel itineraries once again, Bali is on the top of the list for some. The island has much to offer in the way of fair weather, great food, stunning scenery and fascinating culture. It is also a destination for those who wish to indulge in self-pampering at affordable prices. There is no shortage of Day Spas in Bali and many of them are in heavenly locations. The Nest Beachside Spa, in Sanur, is certainly well located and a visit here is a feast for all senses.

1. Smell an array of fragrances as you enter the main salon; oils and potions, creams and balms combine with the ever-present aroma of Balinese incense to present a sensuous welcome.

2. Listen as you leave the sounds of the beach behind and relax into your chair ready for your chosen treatment. You'll be lulled by ambient music designed to enhance your leisure.

3. See a view to die for from the main salon. Colourful boats and a sparkling sea stretch out to the horizon in a pleasing vista.

4. Feel and enjoy the sensations as your body is massaged and soothed. Treatment rooms at the back of the salon are used for scrubs, wraps, facials and massages of varying durations. The main salon is where you can enjoy a manicure, pedicure or perhaps a cream bath. If you haven't yet indulged in this form of traditional, Indonesian pampering you've been missing out. Warm macadamia oil, or a creamy, rich conditioner is massaged into your hair and scalp then your head is wrapped in a warm towel to help absorption of the magic potion. While that magic is happening, your shoulders, arms and hands will be massaged. Trust me, the feels are good.

If your chosen treatment is a manicure or pedicure (or both - why not?), you'll have the option of adding a bit of fuss by way of nail art. It's Rp30,000 per piece which works out to around just $3Aus and you'll have a piece of art on your fingers or toes.

5. Taste a refreshing lemon-lime sorbet as you complete your treatment and return to the real world, which is not so difficult to encounter in Sanur.
