Come in out of the cold and join us for some real warmth, fun and good company listening to some entertaining and moving poetry performances... or, if you are feeling inclined, you could seize the moment and use the
Open Mike to share a poem of your own. Think about it. More later...
In conjunction with
The Nameless Project , Adelaide poets
Indigo Eli ,
Jelena Dinic and
Kate Alder will present an evening of poetry, edibles and slam.
There will be readings from their recent launched anthology
New Poets 18, which was launched during May at the
Friendly Street Poets celebration conducted at the
SA Writers' Centre .
The
New Poets 18 and
Patterns for Living - Friendly Street Poets 37 will be available for sale and poets will be available to sign your copies.
Calling all poets to join us for a Poetry Slam. There will be two rounds, each with a three minute time limit, in both rounds. So warm up for this year's National Slam. Note: there are limited positions.
The
Open Mike is a special segment providing encouragement to local readers. It is recommended readings be limited to one poem per person.
This is an ideal social event to invite your friends to celebrate the warmest vibes on a chilly winter evening with friendly company on the evening prior to the shortest night of the year.
The venue
The Croydon Store normally open 8.30 am - 3.30 pm daily, will be especially open, offering dinner along with cake, nibbles and coffee. The menu will be a spinach and ricotta cannelloni with Napoli sauce. The other option will be a beef lasagne. Vegetarians will be catered for and the venue is happy to assist with BYO with a $5.00 corkage.
It is recommended to book to avoid disappointment.
