I am a world traveller & a mom of two, (8 & 6). I love to meet people, and am fascinated that there are 7 billion stories out there to be explored. I think Melbourne is the most happening city to live in with all the fun activities around town.
If it's not on your bucket list already, put it on now
We live in a world of fusion; whether cultures collide by accident or collaborate on purpose, the ones to benefit from such a marriage of cultures are the masses. We have seen fusion cuisine gain more and more popularity over the decades, and of course in the world of entertainment, fusion in movies and music is also gaining ground.

Melbournians are in for a treat if they are into fusion music. A rare and unique concert is coming to the Arts Centre Melbourne where the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform music composed by A R Rahman, India's, and most likely the world's, most prominent and prolific music composer. A R Rahman will be a guest performer at the concert as well.

Apart from being a genius musician, A R Rahman is also a singer, songwriter, record producer, musician, and philanthropist. He has written songs in several languages, and composed for Bollywood as well as Hollywood. He has performed at the Nobel Prize ceremony and the London Olympic ceremony. He has shared the stage with Michael Jackson and partnered with Andrew Lloyd Webber for a stage performance "Bombay Dreams". Rahman's music talent is noted for integrating eastern classical music with electronic music and beyond.

A R Rahman's music has permeated all the simple and complex cultural layers of the land shared by a billion people — India. In fact, Rahman's music has earned him accolades around the world, including two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA and a Golden Globe - a status no other Indian enjoys. In fact, he is also known as the "Mozart of Madras" owing to his music genius.

The concert will be held on Thursday 16 February 2017 at 6pm at Arts Centre Melbourne. The tickets are now available for purchase and range from $40 (concession) to $399 (Platinum). The Platinum experience will also give you a chance to a pre-show VIP function which includes a meeting and dinner with the star himself. For bookings, click here.

And just in case if you are wondering what the A and the R stand for, his full name is Allah Rakha Rahman, the name he chose when he was 23 years old when he changed his religion.
