There aren't many movies out there that I will happily go back and watch again and again when there is nothing to watch on television. One of them is the most recent remake of The Mummy, starring Brendan Fraser (Rick O'Connell), Rachel Weisz (Evelyn Carnahan) and Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep).

The story of The Mummy is in 1290 BC, Imhotep is caught having an affair with Pharaoh Seti 1's mistress Anck-su-Namun and the two of them kill the pharaoh, signing both of their own death warrants. Imhotep is condemned with the Hom Dai curse, the only time it has ever been used, and buried alive with flesh eating beetles.

More than 3000 years later, events bring Rick (and ex member of the French Foreign Legion), Evelyn (an aspiring Egyptologist) and her disgraced Egyptologist brother Jonathan (John Hannah) together on the hunt for the ancient city of Hamunaptra and the treasures it holds. Along the way they join forces with Ardeth Bay (Oded Fehr) a Medjai who's vowed to keep Imhotep in his grave no matter what. Leading to a fight to the death between Rick, Imhotep and some hard to kill mummies.

This movie is full of laughs, not surprising with a lead actor like Brendan Fraser, whose most famous role is most likely in George of the Jungle, and also has some touching moments between Rick and Evelyn.

If you are looking for a fun movie, that you can just watch and enjoy, then try The Mummy.
