We All Have a Mother - Mothers on Stage
motherlode, leichardt, theatre

Mother's Day is just around the corner. Whether you have children or not, we all came from a mother. Why not celebrate the season with this fascinating theatre production called Mother Lode?

Being a recent new mother myself, the thought of seeing a theatre show about motherhood intrigued me. It is truly one of the most life changing experiences one can have in life and this production takes the experience of motherhood on in a unique and compelling way.

Motherlode
is a fascinating look from seven different actresses, all mothers themselves - interview seven mothers from diverse walks of life and delve into the similarities and vast differences in this universal experience of giving life.

These are stories that are not often told, taking an authentic look at the realities of motherhood.

Motherhood can be controversial, heartbreaking, beautiful and messy. These are tales of the inevitable pain as well as the exquisite magic of caring.

Every word the actors utter come from the collected interviews and via the creator of the show, Dean Carey.

The result is 80 minutes of honest, compelling, funny and riveting theatre where we discover the collective power mothers hold for the future of this world.

This production takes a raw and intimate look at the realities of being a mother, something we can all relate to or have more compassion for our own mothers through witnessing the experience of being a mother.

The show is an opportunity and platform for the messy, divine, oftentimes hilarious experience of being a mother and how women's lives are changed by the experience.

Verbatim theatre is rarely seen on Australian stages and this particular style is a visceral, honest and magical method of storytelling.

We guarantee this won't be your average theatre show.
With Jo Briant, Mel Dodge, Karli Evans, Lana Kershaw, Monette Lee, Jan Oxenbould and Natalie Rees.

Come see Motherlode and experience motherhood at a level you never knew possible through this fabulous and authentic production.
