The idea grew from around 300 Kate Bush fans in Brighton, UK, who were all inspired to dress up as their idol and recreate the iconic Wuthering Heights dance. Now an international event, it comes to Melbourne for the first time, with around 5000 people already registered as going on Facebook with another 10,000 listing their interest.

Known for her eclectic music and aesthetic, 'Wuthering Heights' was Kate Bush's rise to fame when it topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. She became the first female to achieve a UK number one with a song that she had written herself.

Kate Bush went on to even greater things, including numerous awards and nominations and ten studio albums. Over the span of her career, Bush's music has been categorised as art rock, art pop, baroque pop, experimental pop, and pop rock, and drawing from non-musical influences such as horror and gothic movies.

The most Wuthering Heights day ever is a day not to be missed - as if you needed another excuse to visit the lovely Fitzroy Gardens! Check out a video of the UK event here or the event page here . And don't forget your red dress and stockings!
