The Morrison Hotel has to be one of the most understated places in Brisbane and is definitely my favourite place for excellent food, a chilled atmosphere and great service. The Morrison Hotel, in my experience, has consistently served the best steaks in Brisbane and every time I dine here, I am never disappointed.

Just on Stanley Street, The Morrison makes for a convenient yet quiet dining experience, where you can have a client lunch, a romantic dinner or a Friday night catch up with mates in their classic Whisky Bar lounge.

I would suggest having their 60 second calamari starters or, even better, their hot and cold seafood share platter followed by a mouth-watering steak from their extensive menu with the mushroom sauce (it has to be the mushroom because it's the best I have ever tried). Then, when you're as full as a goog, follow it up with their brandy snap basket then crawl home for a long sleep.

If you haven't been here before or haven't been here for a while then go… this weekend. It's easy to find, quiet and with plenty of parking available and is also close to public transport if you want to leave the car at home for the night. The service is impeccable, the wait staff friendly and always happy to have a chat with you, and the food comes out piping hot, fresh and quick. Pop down to the Morrison, you won't be disappointed.
