The Morrison Hotel is an iconic place to eat and drink in Brisbane. It's on the corner of some busy roads so keep an eye out for the exit to Stanley Street (otherwise you'll be going around the block).
The restaurant part is called Fiasco's and has a reputation as the best steakhouse in Brisbane. The hotel is open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner. There's an extensive range of wood fired pizzas, salads, steaks (of course) and other pub classics.

My dining partners received their meals as generous proportions with chips and salad on the side. My husband ordered the steak and it lived up to his expectation. I ordered the special of the day which was salmon with chat potatoes, leek and asparagus. There is a small dessert menu and you can finish your meal for a coffee or hot drink.
The Hotel has an impressive drinks list with wine, craft beers, spirits and four pages of whisky! It has a dedicated Naked Whisky Bar so you'll be spoilt for choice if this is your favourite drink.
The Hotel is within walking distance of the Gabba, so it tends to be busy when the footy and cricket is on and you may want to book a table. There are five function rooms available if you have a special occasion (I have fond memories of a Christmas party here many moons ago). Alternatively, you can arrange a gift voucher as a present.
The Morrison Hotel has been trading in the same place since 1927 so besides cooking a good steak…. it must be doing something right!
