There's no race to the finish line on The Mindful Walk at St Kilda Botanical Gardens, Blessington St, St Kilda on Sunday 18 February 2018 from 9.30am to 10.30am. Tickets range from $6.36 to $43.29 (kids/early bird (ends 19 Jan)/Adult), all in the name of supporting mental wellness. While the grown-ups walk in silent bliss, Little Warriors will be hosting a kids mindful yoga class for little ones 4 plus years, to enjoy their own mindful experience. Please keep in mind that registration is required for all children.
Here is the opportunity to slow down and reconnect to yourself and your surrounds, and the only prize winner is you. This mindfulness focussed event is to support Livin (founded to wipe out the stigma that goes with mental illness. It's also to raise awareness for suicide prevention), who are flagging the map and spreading the word that 'It Ain't Weak to Speak'. Find out more on the website.
There'll be a short meet and greet before the walk, including a little chat about how to walk mindfully. You'll be guided through a 30 min silent walk around the gardens with mindful triggers to help you become present, while your ears are treated to a variety of sound sensations.
Post walk goodies donated by generous sponsors i.e. Impressed Juice, will be offered. Hang around the Lululemon chill-out zone to keep feeling connected and to enjoy some live music. No prior mindfulness experience is necessary, so come one come all (maybe not the four legged ones) and do yourself and others a lot of good. Introduce by example, your young-uns to a lifetime of the best 'go-to' tools for all aspects of their health and wellbeing. Check the FAQs which may answer questions you might have. This event is presented by Madame Heap, a school for all things mindfulness and meditation, helping you take care of your mind's health. Founded by Melbournians Mandy and Carrie, the Mindful Walk is their baby.
