I love to travel, explore new places and share my adventures with others.
Looking for something to take the kids to in the school holidays? Enjoy puppets, improv comedy and knowing that scripts are out and imagination and storytelling is in? Want to give the kids a chance to be part of the comedy show? Then The Junior Mighty Little Puppet Show is worth checking out.
There are four puppets which make up the Ritas and they have detachable eyes and noses so that every time the characters can be different. Audience members can choose the eyes and noses from the 'face buffet' and watch as the talented actors then bring these new puppet characters to life.
The Junior Mighty Little Puppet Show is like being part of a choose your own adventure as you start with three different unique stories and then the audience members are allowed to pick which two characters' stories they most want to see the next chapter of and then pick which story goes right through to the end.
As this involves audience participation and no scripts, every show is unique and is guaranteed to be loved by both children and adults alike.
I loved how we were greeted by the yellow Rita as we walked into the theatre and were instantly laughing and feeling comfortable right from the start. All the kids were happy to go up and choose the eyes and noses for the puppets.
Our stories involved a chocolate vampire, ancient Egyptian mummy, golfing princess and cake baking ogre - it was hard to pick one to follow through to the end.
It was also lovely that the kids could get up close and get pictures with the Ritas after the show.
The comedy was suitable for all ages with a touch of adult humour thrown in to keep the adults as amused as the kids. In general, I love shows with puppets and I thought this was a great comedy festival show.
