Have you ever wanted to see back stage of an Opera House? While in New York you can tour the Metropolitan Opera . The tour includes the backstage, wardrobe areas and the auditorium. Tours are given during the performance season at 3:30pm on weekdays and at 10:30am and 1:30pm on Sundays. The price is $16 for the general public, $14 for Opera Guild members and students under 29 the admission is $10.

There is a tour available of the Lincoln Center, which is given year round. Tickets for this tour are $15 adults, $8 for children under twelve years of age and $12 for students and senior adults.

Performances of the opera are open to the public and tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket booth. There is a restaurant on site at the opera which opens two hours before curtain time and reservations are required.

A night at the opera is a wonderful experience for anyone, especially for a visitor. Plan to reserve a date for dinner and opera before you trip to New York and make it an evening you will not forget. It will be the highlight of your visit.
