Antique lovers and aficionados of art deco, 20th century and vintage wares, slide into your patent leathers wingtips and bring along your trunk for you'll surely fill it at The Melbourne Fair this November. An exciting convocation of collectable, interesting and valuable wares will be on show – and available to purchase - over the weekend of 23rd to 26th November at the Caulfield Racecourse, and it promises to be nothing short of a treasure trove of fun.
Have you ever heard of an antique fair having an official opening? We can't guarantee a Charleston or Foxtrot, but feel certain the Premier Opening Night of The Melbourne Fair will be just as flamboyant and exciting. Being held on Thursday 24th November 2017 from 6pm to 9pm, the Premier Opening Night is your golden ticket to preview the collection, which will be officially open for business from Friday 25th through to Sunday 27th November.
The Melbourne Fair is expected to host over fifty stallholders offering a range of lighting, furniture, sculptures, silver, glass, ceramics, jewellery, prints, books, arts, collectables and couture. An Aladdin's cave of who-knows-what-you'll find. Fashion lovers will enter the wardrobe of their dreams with clothing choices collected from the Great Gatsby era right through to the 1960's, including luxury wares from brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Take home decorator pieces from the Georgian era through to the 20th century, as well as some attention drawing sparklies courtesy of some of Australia's finest jewellers. Organisers promise a range of items to suit every taste and budget so no-one need leave empty handed.
Alongside the market aspect of The Melbourne Fair will be a very special vintage couture exhibition centred around the evolution of the Little Black Dress. From Chanel's 1920's creation through to present day, designers on display will include Dior, Gaultier, Givenchy, Ceil Chapman (Marilyn Monroe's favourite designer) along with several more. But this is not a mere admire from afar affair. Hold onto your hat fashion lovers - the gowns on display will be available to purchase.

The Melbourne Fair is being held across a several day weekend starting on Thursday 23rd with the Premier Opening Night, through to Sunday 26th November 2017.
The Premier opening night is being held from 6pm to 9pm and entry to this very exclusive party is $30 a ticket.
General 'Day' admission to the rest of the fair is $15, with a $10 concession entry, and children under the age of 16 years are free with an accompanying adult.
The Melbourne Fair will be open on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th November from 11am to 6pm, and finally on Sunday 26th November from 11am to 5pm.
