Meat District Co is a cafe/bistro style restaurant situated right on King Street Wharf with an open view to the marina. It is definitely a venue that cannot be missed.

Spanning two levels and featuring a stunning spiral staircase, the venue has something for everyone. The top level boasts waterfront views with a large island bar stocked with the finest craft beer, cocktails and local wines whilst the ground level features alfresco seating and the theatrics of an open kitchen at its very best.

The dining areas are spacious and can easily accommodate close to 100 people in one sitting. It is of little surprise that this is a popular corporate venue for Friday night drinks with work colleagues.

It was a beautiful Autumn weekend and we were in the mood for some flavoursome burgers, ribs and steaks. 's menu draws inspiration from traditional cooking styles such as rustic, home-style slow cooking that I absolutely adore.

We were greeted warmly by the staff and we got a lovely outdoor table that looked directly out to the marina.

While my friend was deliberating over the menu, I decided to have a dessert drink first up - a Nutella Shake! The sweet chocolate drink certainly lifted my spirits. The Nutella shake was so creamy, smooth and so easy to drink. It was a great hit and I finished it off effortlessly.

My friend made the executive decision and ordered some delectable selections from the 'Snacking' menu. I wholeheartedly concurred with her choices.

We started with some truffle fries. These truffle-flavoured potato chips were deliciously addictive. Every bite delivered a light scent of truffle with some crunch. Honestly, I would be happy with a bowl of these truffle chips and my Nutella milkshake at any time.

The truffle mash arrived creamy and light, but the serving portion was quite small. The potato mash was agreeable and hard to fault, but it did not leave me craving for more, mainly because it didn't that strong truffle flavour to hook me on. But I suppose it should be eaten together with some steak or BBQ ribs.

While we were waiting for our burgers to come out, we were happy to take some time out and admired the beautiful marina views at the front.

The burgers came out one by one and they looked substantial in size and were each delicious in their own right.

The Truffle Burger arrived standing tall and proudly. There was a thick juicy beef patty, minimal mixed greens, sweet roasted peppers, tomato, truffle parmesan and aioli sandwiched neatly between the buns. My friend cut the burger right through the middle, and everything held together without falling apart onto the plate.

Every bite of the burger delivered that distinct aromatic truffle flavour and it worked well with juicy beef patty. We couldn't get enough of it.

The Grilled Chicken Burger was very flavoursome and it used premium, top notch and fresh produce. Surprisingly, pesto chicken matched extremely well with mature blue cheese. In our opinion, the burger was very reasonably priced compared to other neighboring King St Wharf eateries.

Yes, we did ordered a salad to balance out our heavy meal.

This was a really good warm roasted baby carrots salad and the flavours blended brilliantly with green beans, fetta, hazelnuts and a refreshing citrus dressing. I liked it a lot so I tried to make my roasted carrot salad at home.

prides itself on its delicious fresh honest fresh food and offers affordable gourmet meals for families and corporate workers. If the bistro restaurant can maintain its tastes, food quality, service and prices, it can certainly stand out from the crowd.
