Infusing African heritage into modern Australian surroundings, The Meat & Wine Co is a classy restaurant which is just perfect to celebrate the special occasions in your life or simply enjoy your life with a contemporary steakhouse dining experience.

I recently went to this restaurant on Darling Harbour to celebrate my wedding anniversary and got soaked in its beautiful ambiance, serenading view and the scrumptious food served on the platter for us. We ordered for a bottle of 2010 Shiraz and were impressed with their prompt service and courteousness of the staff. They made sure our special celebration stayed special in all ways.

What's Hot: Apart from the quintessential steak and wine combo what took my fancy were Button Mushrooms sauteed with creamy onions, Portuguese Prawns in tangy sauce and Lamb Ribs. Amongst other noteworthy dishes are Szechuan Calamari and Lemon and Herb Chicken.

What's Not: The seating on the ground floor, which on a busy night can feel lacking enough space.

You can choose from a range of menu options offered by this restaurant and even enjoy its culinary delight during daytime from its express lunch menu. Portion size of the dishes is just right to satiate your hunger and not leave you feeling either hungry or over fed.

This is a very popular restaurant and it gets very busy, especially if you are planning to be there on the weekend. So make sure to call them up and reserve your seats if you don't want to get disappointed or avoid the last minute rush.

This restaurant is easily accessible by public transportations like taxis and train. The nearest train station to The Meat & Wine Co is Town Hall from where it is just a quick 10 minutes' walk.
If you are driving down in your own car then you can avail the discounted parking facility at the Harbourside car park on Murray St, Pyrmont (underneath the Novotel Hotel) for just $12.00. Do not forget to validate your ticket at the host desk.
