Helpmann Award winning show The Man in Black: The Johnny Cash Story is returning to the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne after playing to over 100 000 people across Australia and New Zealand.

With multi-ARIA award winning front man Tex Perkins in the title role, and backed by The Tennesse Four, the limited season from 19 - 21st July, will be welcome news for fans of the rock performer, and the iconic Johnny Cash alike.

Cash, who died in 2003, sold more than 50 million records in his lifetime, and is widely regarded as one of America's most influential country music figures across a range of genres including rock 'n' roll, blues, folk and gospel. His contribution is such that Cash was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Written by Australian producer Jim Mc Pherson, The Man In Black includes twenty-four well known hits such as Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues, Sunday Mornin' Coming Down, Get Rhythm, A Boy Named Sue, and Hey Porter.

Tickets are now on sale at Ticketek or 13 2849 for $89, or $79 for groups of 10.
