The Man in Black: The Johnny Cash Story, the critically acclaimed musical tribute, which celebrates the life and music of one of the most influential American musicians of the 20th century, Johnny Cash, returns to Sydney this July for a strictly limited season.
The Man in Black: The Johnny Cash Story, is proudly presented by Room 8 Productions, the same organisation which staged the successful musical tributes 'At Last - The Etta James Story'' and 'Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be: The Story of Bon Scott'.
Australian singer-songwriter, Tex Perkins, who is widely known for fronting the popular Australian rock-band The Cruel Sea, stars as Cash, whose distinctive sound defined American rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel.
Cash's career spanned over 4 decades and he had the rare honour of being inducted in the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.
In this musical tribute, Tex Perkins & The Tenessee Four will explore Cash's rise to stardom, his fight for survival, his relationship to the beautiful June Carter and his eventual redemption through his best-known songs, including Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line, Sunday Mornin' Coming Down, Get Rhythm, A Boy Named Sue, Hey Porter and his signature song, Folsom Prison Blues.
