Ever since I turned 18 I'd been looking for the perfect bar to hang out at. The gang of How I Met Your Mother had MacLarens, It's Always Sunny had Paddy's, and Cheers had, well, Cheers. I went on many futile outings trying to find the perfect place and was usually met with creepiness or one of those annoying places that masquerades as a bar until nine before it turns into a club.

Just as I had given up I stumbled upon the cheekily named ' Lucky Coq ' and found exactly what I was looking for. Downstairs is a lounge like area with couches and tables as well as a few pool tables, which are always in use so be quick if you want a game. I'll admit when I first walked in the red light was a little hard to get used to but once your eyes adjust it's all good.

Upstairs keeps with the couch theme, but up here there is space cleared for a dance floor for those that way inclined. If there is a large group of you wanting to catch up, I recommend the downstairs.
There is also a rooftop area which is really nice if you don't mind the occasional nicotine cloud being blown your way.

As anyone who's been to the Lucky Coq will tell you the best part about this place is the $4 pizza. This is where I tried my first chocolate pizza and it is to die for. For four dollars the pizza is actually really tasty and I mean, four dollars. Seriously. In addition to their awesome pizza the Lucky Coq stock a variety of flavoured vodkas, including lychee which is my personal favourite.

Every night has a different theme so there is literally something for everyone. Check their website for details and go for a great time.
