Last weekend, I saw the Love Finders Band and their latest gig entitled "I'll play the blues for you". Advertised as an eclectic mix of the blues, the range of music played tickled the taste of all of the audience, if their applause was a metre to judge by.
I have to say that what Rupert Guenther could do with the strings on his electric violin could call the angels down from heaven. It was just mesmerising and such a joy to the ears. I was told in conversation that he was an international violinist, and after hearing him play, agreed his talent on the violin was absolutely fabulous.
But of course, my adoration of the sound of the electric violin playing must not detract away from the other band members, being Campbell Carew on drums and Nathan King on bass, who were equally skilled in their harmony of sound, all topped off with a pair of vocalists Camille Nelson and Adrian Price who could smash both high and low notes, both together and in their solo performances.
All of this talent was also topped off with the help of other artisans, such as a great photographer, and the lighting effects by a visual artist. There were also 3 or 4 videographers who I learned would be uploading the videos to Youtube, where there have been more than 4 million views. Now I have to admit, that is impressive, and is a testimony to the skill of this band.
I spent much time wandering through their website at
lovefinders.band/index.ph and on their
Facebook page and if you want to check out their Youtube videos, the link is
here . Instagram is
here .
On their website is a list of upcoming gigs but the next one at the Quarry Amphitheatre will be on the 29th January 2022 and tickets will be available through Ticketek. they have CDs for sale on their website, as well as resources to be able to download some of their music.
This performance was held at the Quarry Amphitheatre, which was a great natural amphitheatre and with the weather just perfect, it made for an overall great evening out under the stars.
