Celebrating 10 years of The Long Walk
Its 10 years since Michael Long, former Essendon player and others walked from Melbourne to Canberra to ask the Prime Minister to put the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people back on the national agenda.

Since 2004, over 90,000 people have walked with Michael Long on The Long Walk events which have been held around Australia to show their support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

On 31 May at 10.30am you can walk 3.8 kilometres around The Tan at the Royal Botanic Gardens to raise valuable funds for the The Long Walk education and cultural exchange programs.

If you would like to participate in this annual event, registrations and further information can be found here.

A special event for all the walkers is a wellbeing concert featuring Casey Donovan, Urthboy, Radical Son, Ellie Lovegrove, Maupower and the Bunjil Music Business Project Artists. It will be held at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl from 12:00 noon.
