Inexpensive Mid Week Tapas
Strut the red carpet
My friend had told me that we had to visit The Long Room on our night in the city. Normally an open to the public bar, tonight it was full with private bookings. Not to be deterred by the sign on the door saying guest list only or the bouncers enforcing this rule, my persuasive friend somehow managed to wrangle a way for us to get in.
I felt like the guy next door coming into the magical world of the mysterious great Gatsby. The party was in full swing, the music was loud, laughter was raucous, the outfits designer. Dancing, drinking and flirting were definitely on the agenda.
For a classy night of fun
We walked past a couple of young girls with older men leaning in closely trying to get undivided attention. This conversation was no doubt preceded by the room being scanned. Another round of drinks will be ordered over and over again.
The Long Room is literally a very long room with the gathering area in the middle and food, bars and personal curtained spaces along the side… a bit like a harem!
