The Little Burley Market

Calling all Canberrans: a new farmer's and foodies market is about to launch right on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. The brainchild of the team at Local Village Markets who gave Canberra the Haig Park Markets, The Little Burley Market will be a weekly place to get your food fix.

The Little Burley Market will be a bespoke foodies and makers market by the lake, in a convenient location in the heart of the National Triangle. The market will be open from 9am to 1:30pm every Saturday. Launching on 17 September, the first market will coincide with the first day of Floriade.

The experience you can expect at the Little Burley Market is a carefully curated market offering artisan bread, pastries, seafood, charcuterie, truffles, meats, puppy treats, fresh blooms, locally made art, fashion, photography and homewares and much more. The lakeside location means you can enjoy the market as part of a stroll along the lake.

If you're visiting Canberra, it's handy to know that The Little Burley Market is not only situated next to Canberra's most popular recreational area but also surrounded by the National Triangle and attractions including Questacon, the National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery.

The Little Burley Market will not only support local and regional growers, chefs and artisans but also the arts and entertainment sector, offering live music, dance performances, and feature artists. The market will also run regular free community events, including multicultural workshops, and activities for children. Local Village Markets Director Alexandra Webb commented: "Markets are not just about selling produce and craft, they are a community within a community - a place to come together, get to know one another, support and celebrate all our local talent"
