The Literati is a sassy and humorous theatre production that is a must see. With a stellar performance from the cast Miranda Tapsell (Juliet), Jamie Overbold (Clinton also plays Christopher), Caroline Brazier (Philomena also plays Christopher's friend), Kate Mulvane (Amanda) and Gareth Davies (Tristan Tosser), who make this production really sparkle.

The Literati is perfectly engineered into a superb performance, bustling with language play and hilarity whilst staying true and on track.

Can love conquer all?

Juliet and Clinton are in love, a sickly-sweet, all-encompassing, endless love. The youngest straightforward daughter Juliet, is of a wealthy family and wishes to marry Clinton the love of her life, who is a young man of a good heart and slender means. Christopher, Juliet's father sees something of himself in a young Clinton and looks kindly on the match, however, standing in the way of their eternal happiness is Juliet's mother and sister, whose disapproval is of the most high-brow kind.

Juliet's mother Philomena has another son-in-law in mind, a poet, Tristan Tosser. And Amanda, Juliet's bookworm sister, is romantically addled herself and would love to see her sister's love life stymied and Clinton cast out.

The performance is somewhat poetic and filled with humour, it reflects the mood and subject of the moment as Fleming stays true to Moliere's versifying.

This humorous and tremendous performance is a must see, as the cast execute it with perfection!
