The Lighthouse is a pleasant beacon serving wonderful food and refreshments. Choose to sit and savour the views at the serviced restaurant or café, but if takeaway is more your style there is no better choice than traditional fish 'n' chips for that ideal picnic.
Seated in the restaurant I chose the John Dory, herb crumbed & with golden fried w chips & house tartare. My son chose the Local Flathead, crisp battered and served with sweet potato fries and herb mayo. To our delight both were accompanied by a delicious salad. The menu is varied, with Moreton Bay bugs a standout feature.
Non-seafood lovers are catered for with meat or poultry to accompany its extensive seafood menu. Service was friendly and professional and very prompt.
The Lighthouse is just 30-40 minutes drive from Brisbane. You can even take the Cleveland train to its terminus and have a good hour's walk for a hunger that will be richly rewarded. Take the bike and make it an easy 15 minutes.
Enjoy the views from the Point and view the famous lighthouse sitting proudly over the Bay. The Lighthouse Restaurant itself dates back to 1879 and was rebuilt in 1936 after a fire.
