There's plenty of places to go for quality food in Brisbane, but in terms of location not many of them compare to at Cleveland Point. Here they specialise in fresh seafood straight from the bay. What I love most about Cleveland Point is the isolation; apart from the restaurant and old lighthouse, there is not much there besides a park full of people barbequing and children exploring the muddy shore. It really is the most picturesque, peaceful setting.


has several sections, a cafe for those wanting a casual drink or light meal, a built-in fish and chips kiosk and the restaurant itself. The smell of fish and chips wafting from the kiosk was incredibly tempting, but we managed to stay strong and make our way through to the main restaurant where we were seated on the deck right beside the water.

The restaurant serves a variety of dishes made using fresh 'from the bay' ingredients. As well as this there are a small number of 'from the land' dishes and a lengthy list of appetisers, many boasting seafood as their main ingredient. The prices are up there, but when you go to a seafood restaurant you obviously expect to pay a little more and their meals are great value for money.

Unfortunately I was there for afternoon tea so didn't get to take advantage of any of the meal-sized options, but there are a few lighter choices such as salads, hot chips, sweets and a cheese platter. The cheese platter is recommended for two people to share but there were three of us and it was a perfect option for afternoon tea. The drinks were also fantastic, the wine-by-glass serves were very generous and the coffee was steaming hot and strong.

This Friday the 5th of August you can experience the special event, Greek Taverna Night, an evening of traditional Greek food served buffet style, with live entertainment and dancing. The event will cost $60 for adults, $25 for children and bookings are compulsory. To book, contact the functions coordinator whose details can be found on their website.
