A precinct connecting city to river

Parallel to the Hunter River in Central Maitland is The Levee, a precinct offering loads of entertainment, dining and shopping options. It connects the city to the river with laneways, walking paths and link spaces.

As you make your way around, be sure to take in the beautiful river views and impressive city buildings. The Maitland Post Office is one such building worth mentioning. Its High Victorian architecture really makes it stand out from the rest.

Striking artworks can also be found dotted throughout the precinct. The large-scale mural The New One by Patricia Van Lubeck has become one of my favourites. It definitely serves as the perfect backdrop for a photo.

There's a hive of activities, events and programs at various times of the year. In summer, you can enjoy live music performances from a floating stage. Do check out their website before visiting to ensure you're up to date with all that is happening.
