Have fun with The Lakes College fun run
There is no better excuse to get some sunshine and exercise than a good fun run, especially when it is right on your doorstep. On Sunday the 13th of August, The Lakes College is holding its own fun run at North Lakes, in the heart of the northern suburbs. With a broad range of events for every level of fitness, and the chance to win a medal or raise funds for your favourite charity, there really is no reason not to take on the challenge. You can register as an individual, as a member of your school, business or community group, or even create a group yourself.

Starting at 7.45am is the Team Time Trial. This is your chance to gather up a few friends or work colleagues and potentially win between $150 and $500 for your charity of choice. Each team should contain four runners, completing the 2km course around Lake Eden. The winning team has the fastest aggregate time.
At 8.00am the 10km run starts. This trail follows the northern edge of Lake Eden, crosses the North Lakes Resort Golf Course and returns after reaching Discovery Drive. Medals are awarded to the first three male and female finishers. Don't worry, if you're not the fastest in the pack. You will still get a finisher's certificate to prove you made it.
At 8.10am the 5km race kicks off. This course can be completed

by running or walking, following a circuit under Discovery Drive and ending after passing Lake Eden. Dogs are welcome in this event provided they remain on a leash at all times. Medals are awarded to the first three males and females to cross the line, and finisher's certificates will be available.
At 8.20, the final race begins. The 2km race can be completed by walking or running, looping Lake Eden. Strollers and dogs are welcome in this event, as long as your furry friend remains on a leash. Again, medals are awarded to the first three males and females to cross the line. Finisher's certificates will be available.
Please note a small registration fee applies to all events, and you can even register on the day. I recommend that if you do, allow plenty of extra time to fill in your registration forms. Families registered together qualify for a family discount. Bibs can be collected either on the day, or to save time you can collect them the day before the race (Saturday the 12th) from the school.
