If you visit the popular Birubi Beach in Anna Bay, Port Stephens, you are sure to discover two popular eateries that are located at the Surf Club. There is a scenic cafe overlooking the beach called Crest Birubi Beach and the other option is The Kiosk , which is run by the café and is a casual takeaway outlet for beach-goers and those who just want to take their food and chill out on the sand. Both of them offer one of the best views in the region - right out onto the perfect surf breaks of Birubi Beach where dolphins surf the waves, whales can be spotted out to sea and camels walk along the shoreline.

Although it is always pleasant to sit down at a cafe, our family have enjoyed The Kiosk a number of times on our visits to the beach for a swim and to watch surfing competitions. If you get there early, ensure you start your day with a refreshing swim and then a huge Brekkie Burger or Bacon and Egg Roll to really start off your weekend with a flavour %%bang!

The Breakfast Menu runs between 8am and 11:30am and includes banana bread, fig raisin and walnut bread, yoghurt and muesli cups, ham and cheese toasties, hot breakfast rolls and a wide range of juices, smoothies and coffees. Once you have ordered, you then receive a buzzer and then you can go and find a seat nearby, to watch the action down on the beach and wait for your buzzer to sound. There are some conveniently located flat rocks to sit on nearby which overlook the beach, which you can put your food and drink on without spillage, as well as picnic tables further along the beachfront.

The Lunch Menu is between 11:30am and 3pm and includes fried options such as hot chips, burgers, fish and chips, salt & pepper squid, fried onion rings and potato scallops, as well as a selection of healthier options such as a Garden Salads, Paninis and smoothies. For kids, there is also Chicken Nuggets or Fish & Chips, if they don't like the larger options.

After trying such delicious and huge breakfast rolls in the past, we couldn't go past the range of hamburgers on the list. If you love a good burger that is jam-packed with tangy sauces that dribble down your arm, then get your napkins ready and try the Hawaiian Chicken Burger, Beef Burger or Morna Burger. It wouldn't matter which burger you picked, it would be one of the best you have ever had!

When you have finished your meal, why not take a walk down to the beach, have a swim between the flags or go for a walk and look at the tourist vans which take visitors to the Stockton Sand dunes, which run for 32 kilometres between Birubi Beach and Stockton Beach near Newcastle. For more ideas on what to do at this popular and unique beachfront, see the article Top 5 Things to do at Birubi Beach, Anna Bay .

When you visit the local beach for a swim, you end up carrying a towering pile of things from your car to your spot on the sand - towels, beach umbrellas, sun cream, eskies and more. If you don't want to take a full esky or a picnic lunch, then a quick trip up to The Kiosk is the perfect solution to buy a lunch-time burger and chips to take back to your towel. It is the true Aussie beach experience to end up with beetroot down your top, sauce over your legs and sand in your mouth whilst eating a burger on the beach! It is then a good excuse to go in for a swim and wash it all off.

Luckily you won't find a more scenic beach to do it...
