Australian audiences will get to see The King before its release via the digital streaming Netflix on November 1, 2019. The King will be screened exclusively in Victoria for a limited season at Lido Cinemas from 11 October.
It will also be shown at Lido's sister cinemas, Cameo in Belgrave and at Elsternwick's Classic.
The King is a historical drama film based on William Shakespeare's Henry plays and follows a young Prince Hal (Timothée Chalamet) must learn to cope with power and war with France when he's unexpectedly thrust on the throne when his father King Henry IV (Ben Mendelsohn) dies.
Directed by David Michôd and co-written by Michôd and Joel Edgerton. Some of the cast include Joel Edgerton (Falstaff), Robert Pattinson (The Dauphin), Sean Harris (William Gascoigne), Tom Glynn-Carney (Henry 'Hotspur' Percy), Lily-Rose Depp (Catherine) and Thomasin Mackenzie (Phillippa).
