Brisbane's most chill, relaxed, eclectic and diverse music venue is closing forever. Their landlord has told them to pack up and get out by the end of the month. Instead of crying about it, bands who who have loved playing The Joynt are coming together to put on many great nights of music.
The line up so far, for the last month at the Joynt
If you have never been to The Joynt it is very hard to describe it in a few words. Out the front is a stage and dance floor. Out the back is a pool table and tables of all varieties where you can just relax, hang out with friends or play the various board games that are available.
The music on offer ranges from world music to indy bands. The patrons are just as varied, from young hipsters to old crusty ex hippies and everyone in between. No matter who you are or how you are dressed you will never feel out of place.
On top of that they served cheap but delicious meals. Maybe nothing spectacular, but great for the price.
It is the bar I have looked for my whole life, and while some places I have visited around the world have come close, only the Joynt has really managed to perfect the formula.
Outdoor seating at the Joynt
If you are a fan of the Joynt, then get there this month before it is too late. If you have never been then go there to check out this unique venue before it is too late. Maybe if we show them enough love they will find a new location and reopen.
