We're doing pretty well here in Oz these days. With the amount of talented singers and songwriters we seem to be un-earthing day after day, I mean.

I say this, because I am almost going to have to sell my soul, or even worse, my GHD in order to attend all of the great gig's of these touring Aussie artist's. There just seem to be so many these days, I have to pick and choose the best ones to attend, because I cannot possibly afford them all.

So, one that has made me list is none other than the super talented four piece musical group from Sydney, The Jezabels .

If you're an avid listener of Triple j, you have no doubt heard of them. After releasing a trilogy of EP's, 'The Man Is Dead', and 'She's So Hard' in 2009, and 'Dark Storm' in 2010, they've had a significant amount of airplay on the station.

But let's go back to where it started.

Hayley Mary, who is on vocals, and Heather Shannon (piano / keyboard) first began playing together in Byron Bay. The perfect place to make music I say. But luckily for them, they made the move to Sydney to attend University, because it was there that they met Nik Kaloper who play's drums, and Sam Lockwood who rocks rhythm guitar, and formed The Jezabels.

Probably not the most exciting of stories, but nevertheless, a bond was made and they haven't looked back.

The first time The Jezabels popped up on my radar was after hearing their track 'Easy to Love' from She's So Hard.

Just watching this video, I'm sure you will agree that The Jezabels know how to put a piece of music together. I'm of the mind that they were all meant to meet to make music. It sounds lame, but it's like they're all pieces which connect to the same puzzle, that's how well they work together.

Another track off their next EP, 'Dark Storm' which possibly rocketed them on to everyone's radar, is 'Mace Spray'.

In actual fact, both songs made it in to the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2010. 'Easy To Love' at number 49, and 'Mace Spray' at number 16.

Fast forward to now, and The Jezabels are about to embark on the tour for their first full length album release 'Prisoner'.

You may, or may not have heard the track 'Endless Summer' which has already had solid airplay on Triple j.

Their new LP will be available from iTunes from Friday September 16. Pre-order your copy here , just like me.

Now, you may have heard that The Jezabels will be touring for Southbound Festival 2012, and you can check out my article here .

But, just before that, you can have them and only them perform live for you and one of my favourite live music venues.

Catch The Jezabels live at The Astor Theatre, Friday November 4, or Saturday November 5 for their 'Prisoner Tour'.

And you'll want to snap up tickets pronto. In late 2010, they totally sold out all shows of their Australian tour, when launching their EP 'Dark Storm'.

Tickets are available from the Bocs Ticketing website here from $35.00.

Doors open at 7:00pm, supported by 'Wolves at the Door' from 8:00pm, 'Hey Rosetta!' at 9:00pm, with The Jezabels hitting the stage at 10:00pm.

The Astor Theatre is a licensed venue, so it's no BYO. This is also an 18 event, so photo ID is required.
