End the last week of April with a bang with the Ipswich Festival , running from April 25 to May 6.

On April 26, The Ipswich Festival officially begins with the visually spectacular 'Fire on the River' which lights up Ipswich Central with a ten minutes fireworks show.

Mark May 5 and 6 in your diaries for the festivals street party on the 5th and the festival parade on both days.

City of Ipswich, Mayor, Paul Pisasale says 2012 is the start of a new era for Ipswich.

"Reinvention is the theme for this year's annual Ipswich Festival Parade – 'Tales of Discarded Treasure', a celebration of our childhood stories portrayed through the beauty of recreations of junk and recycled materials," Mayor Pisasale says.

Some of the festival's highlights include the festival's street party and parade aswell as Kids Kingdom.
[SECTION]Top of Town Street Party[/SECTION]

To get everyone in the mood to celebrate, the city's first 'Busk Off' at Carnival Capers will be held in the Ipswich City Mall.

Then the festivals 'Top of Town Street Party' will round out the evening of entertainment starring: Oceanics, whose music is compared to the one and only, Cat Empire.

The Lamplights, a three piece band whose music is best described as an organic blend of funk, folk and blues.

A French Butler Called Smith, whose music is summed up as 'dance' and the amazing and spectacular and The House of GaGa – The Lady GaGa Experience.



A show that is described as the best and most successful copy-cat Lady GaGa experience Australia has ever seen.

The House of GaGa is Australia's very first No.1 Lady GaGa tribute show – taking international events to the next millennium.
This must see extraordinaire encapsulates the exact look, feel and sound of Lady GaGa's very own stage shows.



The set list includes many of Lady GaGa's hit songs such as, Just Dance, Lovegame, Poker Face and Born This Way.

[SECTION]Kids Kingdom[/SECTION]

There is something for everyone at the Ipswich Festival, including Kids Kingdom – which is both for kids and adults alike.

The star spangled line-up includes legendary children's entertainer Peter Combe, with his funny, inspirational and irresistibly catchy songs for kids.



Mr Combe has been entertaining kids for over 20 years with much loved classics such as, Spaghetti Bolognaise, Newspaper Mama, Wash Your Face with Orange Juice and Juicy Juicy Green Grass.

His music is extremely popular among many generations and many should know or remember some of his hit songs.

Have your face painted at Yellow Cab's Face Painting Factory, see the Australia's Got Talent contestants and witness an interactive production by Noises for Kids, featuring the likes of Mr Bean, Hannah Montana and Scooby Doo.

Don't forget to see the Looney Tunes Show featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck and meet the characters after the show to get a photo with them to take home – just like being at Movie World.

Rides will incur a fee on the days of the festival, including any food bought on the day's and is an alcohol free event with free entry to the festival each day.
