An untold story of Charles Dickens behind his genius and popularity emerges in selected cinemas in Australia.

Ralph Fiennes (not to be confused with Liam Neeson, both brilliant dramatic actors), stars and directs the biographical film about Charles Dickens' (Ralph Fiennes) relationship with his mistress Nelly Ternan (Felicity Jones).

As much as we love the diversity and exquisite appeal of Ralph Fiennes' acting, from the enjoyable villains of Lord Voldemort to the plain evilness of Amon Goeth in Schindler's List, Felicity Jones' portrayal of a charming young actress in the shadow of the famous Dickens is equally as deserving of our appreciation and recognition.

[ADVERT]With no big spoilers, hopefully, The Invisible Woman opens with Ternan alone on the beach engulfed in deep memories before the flashback to her earlier years - a young teenager of 18 admired by Dickens, who was evidently bored with his wife who seemed to lack the beauty and intellect of Ternan. The Invisible Woman alludes not only to Ternan, whose relationship with Dickens was carefully hushed but also Dickens' wife Catherine (Joanna Scalan), not to be missed as a brave woman undeserving of Dicken's ruthless treatment in the aftermath of Ternan's arrival.

Hidden behind the powerhouses of sequel No. 2s and 3s in box offices, The Invisible Woman is perhaps more so a cinematic wonder. So if you find yourself craving a piece of fine film (not so easily found) head down to one of the selected cinemas listed below.
