I was lucky enough to see The Intouchables movie on a plane recently and have been waiting for it to be released in Australia ever since. I have finally heard that it is now showing and can confirm it will be on at Event Cinemas from Thursday, 25 October 2012.

The movie grabs your attention straight away, with the impromptu meeting of two characters who are worlds apart – the charismatic, cultured Philippe (a quadriplegic) is holding interviews to hire a personal carer, while Driss, is just looking for someone to sign his dole slip to gain the unemployment benefit. Over time these two develop a solid relationship which challenges and breaks societal norms.

I can guarantee the film will make you laugh and potentially make you cry at various times. The movie gets you thinking about some of the more interesting life themes around trust, compassion, friendship and love.

Intelligent cinema, good cast, and great performances by both François Cluzet (who plays Philippe) and Omar Sy (who plays Driss). It's a French film, and yes, it does have subtitles, but please don't let that put you off. You won't be disappointed.
