Sunday Sessions
There is a special magic to enjoying a bottle of wine in the great outdoors. Follow a meandering trail to a brilliant vista and delight in a brisk walk across the ridgeline. The confluence of beautiful natural environments and a unique selection of eclectic wines, coupled with delectable, light provisions and stellar views sums up the Wine Hike Experience.
Sunday 9 June - Club Med: Ghost Tree Gully, Black Hill
Taste delicious maritime gems like slick, Sicilian Nero D’Avola and saline Vermentino influenced by sun-soaked, crystalline coastlines of the Mediterranean and our Australian interpretations of the same. Trek along exquisitely tranquil trails laden with kangaroos and grand picturesque gums for a full nature immersion.
Sunday 7 July - Hilltop Drops: Sugarloaf Hill Lookout, Chamber’s Gully
The quick trip to the top of a rounded knoll offers a perfect picnic spot with commanding 360 degree views of the City and Mount Lofty. Enjoy wines influenced by elevation and the rugged beauty of their mountain environments.
Sunday 15 September - Effervescent: Morialta, First and Second Falls
Enjoy this inspired climb to the crest of First Falls where we’ll picnic atop the smooth, reddish rocks in this awesome, ancient place. Sparkling wines feature amongst other favourites as we revel in the spectacular backdrop of cliff walls and loop back past the impressive Second Falls.
Sunday 13 October - Abundant: Giles Ruins, Horsnel Gully
Ambling past old stone cottages along a pleasant creek line, this hike is steeped in historical charm in a valley full of koalas overhead. It is a perfect environment in which to explore the scattered ruins and break out the perfect wines to accompany a heartier picnic of cured meats and cheeses.
Friday 1 November - Sunset Hike 6PM: Beaumont Loop
Taste the Fruit of the Vine as the sun sets on these spectacularly inviting trails with fantastic, grand views of Mount Lofty and the CBD. Wines inspired by Earth and Sky and Dionysian revelry!
Sunday 10 November - Pique-Nique-Soif: Beaumont Loop
The French word for Thirst is ‘Soif’ and the balmier weather is an ideal time to enjoy an array of fragrant and alluring French and French-inspired wines along these rounded and easily managed trails with verdant hills views, stopping often to sip Crémant de Limoux and delightful Blanc, Rouge & Rosé. Secure your spot on the pique-nique rug to enjoy the final sweeping ocean and city views for a degustation of fine French fromage et chocolate.
