Just a girl spreading the word about all the fun (and probably nerdy) things to do!

Alien invaders you can't help but love
I'll be frank, I didn't think that the film could live up to the book when I watched the trailers. The characters were wrong, it wasn't like I thought it'd be, I just didn't think it'd add up.
Now, when I first started watching, I was thinking to myself "these skies just look so fake" and I found my mood towards the film turning around. But by the end of the film, I was completely swept up in the plot, the characters and I thought it was definitely worth watching again.
I am rather nit picky and in most movies I find a hundred little flaws, but the only big issue I could find is that when the main character jumped out of a building with enough force to make a dent in the pavement there is no blood at all on the ground, however the characters and the actors who bring those characters to life make it all seem insignificant.
Even though I knew what would happen in the plot, as I've read the book (and I will say that the movie really does keep in touch with the book unlike some movies which ruin the book completely) I was still swept up with what was happening that there wasn't a boring moment.
If there are any squeally teenage girls out there, there are a couple of scenes where your squeally side will come out, such as kissing scenes and squeals of "omigosh" in death scenes.
Another thing that may make you jump is that the internal voiceover does take a bit of time to get used to (with the occasional American accent slipping out).
I'm not a movie critic, but all in all I would definitely recommend this movie both to fans of the book and those who've never read it, as it is a fantastic movie and I will be buying it when it comes out on DVD.
