An Inner West hotel very popular with local families, The Henson is located near Henson Park Marrickville and has a long and wonderful history. The back bar has undergone an Art Deco transformation and is welcoming to large family groups. There is a leafy beer garden and a children's playground.
The menu contains something for everyone with plenty of gluten free options and there is a special children's menu. Many of the items are made in-house and most ingredients are locally sourced, free range, organic and sustainably produced.
The chicken Katsu Don for $26 was filling with a good amount of chicken in the curry sauce. The grass-fed beef burger was juicy and tasty and came with a large serve of chips. There is a good range of craft beers on tap and by the bottle as well as an extensive cocktail list.
The In-house bottleshop "Grocery & Grog" stocks a range of gourmet goodies. There are six rooms available for rent for more than a month and The Henson is well served by public transport being close to buses and trains.
