You wouldn't quite believe that what started out at the Ipswich Showgrounds in 2008 as a place for creative types to sell their handmade wares has now blossomed into the monthly Handmade Expo in towns up and down the coast of Queensland.
Talented stallholders in Morayfield,
Ipswich,
Redlands, Bundaberg and Rockhampton on one Saturday a month line up to sell art, craft, clothes, baked goods and even wine at the Handmade Markets Expo.
The Bundaberg markets, whose home is the AgroTrend pavilion, are run by an excellent team who get community groups to run a sausage sizzle and have live entertainment from buskers and musicians local to the area to add to the DIY atmosphere.
For the arty among us, stalls cost $75 for three months and can be applied for through the
website.
Bundaberg market dates for 2014 are the first Saturday of each month, apart from May and June due to events at AgroTrend, from 9:00am until 2:00pm with the bonus of free parking.
Rain, hail or shine the Handmade Expo is a great place to escape to on the first Saturday of every month for a morning of picking up quality products and catching up in the relaxed environment.
