I was invited to a birthday event at The Gunshop Cafe last weekend. I assumed I was going to some strange cafe that would be decorated with weaponary. I was pleasantly surprised however, as I was greeted with a beautiful warm wooden restaurant filled with delicious smells and no weapons in sight!
The cafe fits cosily into West End with a homey, disco-tech feel to it. They have utilised quirky authentic furniture pieces into creating a diverse and comfortable environment.
My friends and I all have a variety of dietary requirements which The Gunshop Cafe easily catered for in their menu. They had various vegetarian meals along with gluten free options too. We had an assortment of five platters, which were all raved about. The only issue was trying to hide our full stomachs from the public.
Having booked an event at the cafe we were privileged to enjoy the back courtyard area, which has its own personal bar and tables. They allowed decorations, balloons and wrote a personal happy birthday message to the guest of honour!
I normally find the staggering of food platters at functions timed awfully. I was pleasantly surprised at The Gunshop Cafe that as soon as we all became peckish, we found ourselves being offered the first platter. The rest of the evening was just as swift and smooth.
Although at first hesitant on the name, I find myself very much infatuated with the atmosphere of The Gunshop Cafe. I had a fabulous night and the wait staff were kind natured and professional. All in all, I had a fabulous night at The Gunshop Cafe and if you do find yourself scouring for an affordable but delicious place to eat I highly recommend The Gunshop Cafe and their vegetarian dumplings.
