The award winning children's picture book
The Gruffalo written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, growls into Frankston this July in a theatrical stage show adaptation.
The musical performance, put together by
CDP Theatre Productions and
Tall Stories , tells the story of a clever little mouse on an adventurous journey through the deep, dark wood, warding off predators that want to eat her by telling tales of a monstrous animal lurking in the forest.
What happens when the little mouse comes face to face with the terrifying creature she imagined in her mind?
Tall Stories' musical adaptation of The Gruffalo has performed in London's West End for the last five years, and in theatres across the UK and internationally.
Sydney Morning Herald described performances of The Gruffalo at the Sydney Opera House in 2011 as
"funny, charming and smart...brings the house down"
Little ones shouldn't fear The Gruffalo stage show, as it is aimed at children aged 3yrs and up, with songs, laughs and of course a happy ending.
The family friendly stage performance will be showing at The Frankston Arts Centre on 12 July, with two sessions available at 10.30am and 2.00pm.
Tickets can be booked via the Frankston Arts Centre
website .
